Notorious Sydney bondage and discipline queen Madame Lash has been hired to whip up some interest in an art exhibition called Sense and Sensuality, which opens at the Cape Gallery, Byron Bay tonight. The major exhibition featurers works by leading regional artist James Guppy, Karena Wynn Moylan, Michael Taylor, Deborah Cocks, Nick Gaze and Maxene Morganson. Ms Lash, pictured following Karena Wynn-Moylan around the exhibits, said she would be reading an erotic poem called 'Greek' by Stephen Berkoff at tonight's opening.
Life imitates art as Mullumbimby surrealist Jame Guppy repeats the image in Karen Wynn-Moylan's painting on the real life Madame Lash. Harsh disciplinarian Ms Lash (no relation to Backlash) was in Byron Bay last week to open the exhibition Sense and Sensuality at the Cape Gallery Big Space. Other interesting bites on the night included erotic chocolates. Madam Lash later revealed her career was inspired by one wild woman called Lilith.
